Emer Martin

Emer Martin ( * February 29, 1968 in Dublin) is an Irish writer, painter and filmmaker.

According to her, Martin lived in Paris and London, the Middle East and various locations in the United States. She studied painting in New York; a solo exhibition of her paintings was held in Dublin in the Origin Gallery. As a filmmaker she has several short films; In addition, she produced 2007 Irvine Welshs directorial debut Nuts.

As a writer, Martin has been active since 1995; Her first novel Breakfast in Babylon was honored in 1996 with the Kerry Ingredients Book of the Year Award. Two additional novels were published in 1999 and 2007. In 2000 she was recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship.

Martin now lives in County Meath.
