Emerson Sheik
Márcio Passos de Albuquerque, also known as Marcio Emerson Passos, and Emerson " Sheikh " Emerson ( born December 6, 1978 in Nova Iguaçu (RJ), Brazil) is a Brazilian- Qatari footballer. Between 2009 and 2011 he was with three different clubs champions of Brazil.
Emerson began at age 13, to play at a club from the neighborhood football. First Emerson, who had worked his way up, was active for the São Paulo FC. As the friend and the player Kaká fan did not want to wait to get into the first team, he moved to Japan to play for Consadole Sapporo in the second division. In the 2000 season, the striker scored 31 times in 34 games. After the season he moved to another second division team, Kawasaki Frontale, where he could continue his impressive record with 19 goals in 18 games, so he got a contract with the Premiership club Urawa Red Diamonds in the rest of the 2001 season. There he played very successfully. In 2003, he won the League Cup with Urawa and he was Japan's Footballer of the Year and 2004 Top scorers in the J. League.
In summer 2005, Emerson moved to Qatar with Al- Sadd. In 2007 he moved to France, where he joined Stade Rennes. On 1 January 2008 he went back to Al -Sadd and participated with the club in the AFC Champions League 2008. Al -Sadd offered him to be naturalized, which normally is almost impossible for other professions in Qatar. This offer he accepted and has since played three times for the Qatar national football team.
However, there was on January 20, 2006 incident. Emerson was arrested by the Brazilian police, because he had falsified his birth certificate to appear younger by three years: "The fake birth certificate, Which was used to issue his passport, says he was born on Sept. 6, 1981, but his original shows he was born Dec. 6, 1978. "
Another major Aufreger there was in April 2008, when it was found that he had already played for the U20 national team of Brazil and therefore was not entitled to challenge a play for Qatar. But he played on 26 March 2008 for Qatar in the World Cup qualifiers against Iraq. Qatar won 2-0 and that enabled them to last place in the next qualifying round. Iraq was eliminated. FIFA examined the matter and decided that the Qatar Sports Federation was innocent. He was detained Emerson for the Qatari national team, the score was, however, maintained.
In the years 2009, 2010 and 2011, he was with CR Flamengo, Fluminense FC and SC Corinthians Paulista Brazilian football champions and is the only player in Brazil was in the times series champion with three different clubs. When Cup 2010 with Fluminense he scoring on the final day half an hour before the game, scoring the final the decisive 1-0 victory against the Guarani FC from Campinas. With Flamengo he also won the state championship in Rio de Janeiro in 2009.
In 2012 he won with Corinthians Copa Libertadores. After a 1-1 draw in the final first leg at CA Boca Juniors in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires Emerson scored in the 2-0 victory in the second leg at home in Pacaembu Stadium in the second half, both goals.
