Emery County, Utah
Emery County is a county located in the state of Utah in the United States. Emery County in 2010 had 10,976 inhabitants. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Castle Dale.
History
Emery County was named after Governor George W. Emery, governor of the Utah Territory (1875 ).
Geography
Emery County covers an area of 11,555 square kilometers; of which 25 square kilometers of water. The largest city is Huntington. The county is bordered clockwise to the County Carbon County, Grand County, Wayne County, Sevier County and Sanpete County.
The Green River forms the eastern border of the Grand County. The Wasatch Plateau, a mountainous region forms the western boundary to Sanpete County. In this region lives the majority of the citizens of Emery County. By the Book Cliffs of Range Creek flows.

According to the census of 2000, there were 10,860 people in Emery County. There were 3,468 households and 2,798 families. The population density was 1 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 95.64 % White, 0.18 % African American, 0.65 % Native American, 0.31 % Asian, 0.10 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 1.87 % from other races groups; 1.24% were descended from two or more races. 5.23 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 3,468 households out of which 45.90 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 69.80 % were married couples living together, 7.20 % had a female householder with no husband. 19.30 % were non-families. 17.60 % of all households and 8.10% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 3.10 and the average family size was 3.53 persons.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 35.40 % under the age of 18, 9.60 % from 18 to 24, 24.10 % from 25 to 44 years, 20.90% between 45 and 64 years and 10.10% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 100.80 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.50 males.
The median income for a household was $ 39,850, and the median income for a family was $ 44,086. Males have a median income of $ 39,059, women $ 18,929. The per capita income was $ 14,243. 11.50% of the population and 9.40% of families are below the poverty line. 14.00 % of those under age 18 and 8.10% were 65 years or older.
