Emeryson

Emeryson Cars was a manufacturer of sports and single-seater racing car, which was always at the Formula 1 race at the start with a variety of racing vehicles from 1956 to 1962.

The name Emeryson goes back to the Emery family, which was closely associated with the company. The most important representative of the family was the British engineer and racing driver Paul Emery, who designed most Emeryson vehicles. Even his father George built in the 1930s, 250 cc single-seater.

Paul Emery designed vehicles for Formula Junior, Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 1 and drove the car itself partly Emery built innovative and fast race cars, but they were little sag. The company suffered constantly from a lack of financial resources, it also changed the sponsorship of former racing driver Alan Brown end of the 1950s, nothing. 1960 invested the American Hugh Powell considerable funds into the company, retired after disagreements with Emery but back again. Powell founded in 1963 together with Tony Settember Scirocco Powell Racing Cars and Emeryson ceased production in 1962 and racing use.
