Emiel Mellaard

Emiel Mellaard ( Emiel Remco Mellaard; born March 21, 1966 in Spijkenisse ) is a retired Dutch long jumper.

At the IAAF World Indoor Games in Paris in 1985 he was fifth and at the European Athletics Championships 1986 in Stuttgart. In 1987 he retired from in qualifying at the World Athletics Championships in Rome.

In 1988, he finished fourth at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Budapest and Eleventh at the Olympic Games in Seoul. In three further appearances at the European Indoor Championships he won gold in 1989 in The Hague, in 1990 in Glasgow and silver in 1992 in Genoa sixth.

Six times he was national champion in the open air (1984-1988, 1991) and twice in the Hall (1989, 1990). Other national title he won in 1989 in the 100 -meter run and in the hall in 1987 and 1990 in the 60 - meter dash as well as 1985 and 1987 in the 60 - meter hurdles.
