Emiko Ueno

Emiko Ueno (Japanese植 野 恵 美 子, Emiko Ueno, born September 3, 1957 in Neyagawa ) is a former badminton player from Japan.

Career

Emiko Ueno won the 1975 Japanese champion title in women's doubles with Etsuko Takenaka. 1976 could both defend this double title. 1977 was the most successful year for Ueno. The first badminton world championships, she won the doubles title with Etsuko Takenaka - Toganoo after both were previously successfully already at the All England.

In the same year the double -won at the Asian Games, the first international laurels when it won gold. In the season 1969/1970 they emerged victorious at the Denmark Open and finished third at the All England. In 1971 she was also third in London. The local title they could then eventually win in 1972 and defended in 1973. 1972 both contributed significantly to the Japanese win in the Uber Cup, while in 1975 only enough to place 2. With the Japanese Uber Cup team won the World Cup for women's teams in 1978.
