Émile Biayenda

Emile Cardinal Biayenda (* 1927 in Mpongala, Republic of Congo, † March 23, 1977 in Brazzaville ) was Archbishop of Brazzaville.

Life

Emile Biayenda received after a study of Catholic theology in Brazzaville and Lyon on 26 October 1958, the sacrament of Holy Orders by the Archbishop of Brazzaville, Michel Jules -Joseph -Marie Bernard CSSp. He was from 1959 to 1965 and from 1969 to 1970 worked as a parish pastor. From 1965 to 1969 he served as Episcopal Vicar of the Archdiocese of Brazzaville.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him Titular Archbishop of Garba 1970 and appointed him Koadjutorerzbischof in Brazzaville. He received his episcopal consecration on May 17, 1970 Archbishop Sergio Pignedoli, secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Mario Tagliaferri, Apostolic Delegate in the Congo, and the Bishop of Orléans, Guy -Marie -Joseph Riobé. 1971 he was appointed Archbishop of Brazzaville.

Emile Biayenda was recorded in 1973 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Marco in Agro Lauren Tino in the College of Cardinals.

He was a tribal dispute and the victim was murdered on March 23, 1977. His remains were interred in the cathedral of Brazzaville.
