Emilie of Oldenburg-Delmenhorst

Emilie Antonia von Oldenburg- Delmenhorst ( born June 15, 1614 Delmenhorst, † December 4, 1670 in People Berg) was 1646-1662 regent of the County of Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt. She married in 1638 Count Ludwig Günther I of Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt from the House of Schwarzburg.

Life

Emilie was a daughter of Count Anton II of Oldenburg and his wife Sibylle Elisabeth, née von Braunschweig -Dannenberg.

They married on February 4, 1638 Count Ludwig Günther I of Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt. When her husband died in 1646, she took over at the age of 32 years as guardian for her son Albert Anton in 1662, the government of the county. The Countess had their children educated in the forms of shaped by the virtue Lichen Society religiosity. To this end she ordered the writer Ahasuerus Fritsch Hofmeister, who eventually rose to become chancellor during the reign of her son.

Countess Emilie died on December 4, 1670 at the Peace castle in mountain people.
