Emily Hood Westacott

Emily Hood Westacott ( born May 6, 1910 in Brisbane, † 9 October 1980) was an Australian tennis player.

Emily Hood Westacott won the 1939 Australian Tennis Championships 6-1, 6-2 against her compatriot Nell Hall Hopman after they failed to Nancye Wynne Bolton in 1937 in the final. In 1930 she won the doubles competition with her partner Margaret Molesworth against Marjorie Cox Crawford and Sylvia Lance Harper 6:3, 0:6 and 7:5, in 1933 they won 6:3 and 6:2 against Joan Hartigan Bathurst and Marjorie Gladman Van Ryn and 1934 against Joan Hartigan Bathurst and Ula Valkenburg with 6:8, 6:4 and 6:4. In addition, Hood Westacott 1937 reached Nell Hall Hopman and 1939 with May Hardcastle the finals, their opponents in both games were Thelma Coyne Long and Nancye Wynne Bolton. In the mixed doubles she reached with Aubrey Willard against Marjorie Cox Crawford and Jack Crawford in 1931 the final and again in 1934 with Ray Dunlop against Joan Hartigan Bathurst and Edgar Moon, but was inferior in both games with their partners.
