Emily Mortimer

Emily Kathleen A. Mortimer ( born December 1, 1971 in London ) is an Anglo-American actress.

Life

The daughter of Sir John Mortimer (1923-2009) and Penelope Gollop attended St. Paul 's Girls School in London's Barnes and studied from 1990 to 1994 in English and Russian at Lincoln College, Oxford. Already on the girls' boarding school she appeared in plays and they continued this even in college.

Mortimer played in the 2004 movie Dear Frankie a mother who is torn between concern for her son and the hope of a normal life. The role brought her a nomination for the 2005 London Critics ' Circle Film Award and for the European Film Awards ( Audience Award in the category ). In 2007 she was nominated for her role in the comedy Lars and the Real Girl for the Satellite Award.

Since January 3, 2003, she is married to Alessandro Nivola. On 26 September 2003, their son, and on 15 January 2010 was their daughter. In 2010 she received to her British citizenship and the United States.
