Emily Seebohm

Emily Jane Seebohm ( born July 5, 1992, Adelaide, Australia) is an Australian swimmer.

Career

When she was two years old, she moved to Brisbane, Queensland, where she began swimming at the age of five years. In the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in 2007, she won the title over 100m backstroke and 4 × 100 m medley relay.

In the swimming world championships in 2007 in Melbourne, it was as a 14- year-old already fourth in the 100m back and thus the best Australian in this race. She was then jointly with Libby Lenton, Jessicah Schipper and Leisel Jones in the 4 × 100 m medley relay used and won gold.

The Australian qualification competitions for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing Seebohm swam in the semifinals in the 50m backstroke in 27.95 seconds set a new world record at this track. By this time she was the first woman who remained on this route under 28 seconds. But he held no longer than 24 hours and has been improved in the final of Sophie Edington at 27.67 seconds.
