Emirate
As the emirate (Arabic إمارة, Imara, majority Imārāt ) the dominion of the Emir is called. Historically an emirate is a province that is managed by a prince. Today there are also Emirates, which are sovereign states. A region of Saudi Arabia, which is under an Emir, is also called the emirate. In Arabic, the term generally refers to a portion of the country, which is under the control of the ruling class.
The Turkish equivalent is Beylik. A Emir corresponds to the old Turkish title Bey.
