Emma Snowsill

Emma Snowsill ( born June 15, 1981 in Gold Coast, Queensland) is an Australian triathlete, triple Triathlon World Champion Olympic distance (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run, 2003, 2005 and 2006) and Olympic champion triathlon (2008).

Career

The multiple world champion and Olympic champion from 2008 triathlon professional. In high school, she was a successful swimmer and started at age 16 in her first triathlon. Her nickname is Snowy. Emma Snowsill won the 2000 World Championship of the International Triathlon Union ( ITU) in the 16-20 year-olds as well as the gold medal at the Sydney Youth Olympic Festival Triathlon and it was Australian triathlete of the year. She was awarded a grant from the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS ).

2002 died in a traffic accident while cycle training her then boyfriend Luke Harrop - he was as a triathlete and the twin brother of Loretta Harrop.

In 2003 she was in Queenstown ( New Zealand) Triathlon World Champion. In 2004 she won the World Cup and was the first in the world rankings, but was not selected for the Olympic team in Australia for the Games in Athens. 2005 World Champion Emma Snowsill in Gamagori (Japan) again.
