Emmanuel Erskine

Lieutenant General Emmanuel Alexander Erskine is a high military retired in Ghana, which has played a significant role in various UN operations in Ghana. Since May 2002 he has been a member of the National Reconciliation Commission, which has submitted a multi-volume report on the human rights situations in the country since independence in October 2004.

Military training

Erskine was trained at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, UK in telecommunications. He remained in the Staff College in Camberley to 1968 and was formed between 1968 to 1972 at the Royal College of Defence Studies.

Military career

Erskine was as Director General in the Ministry of Defense is responsible for operations and planning between 1971 and 1972. Between 1973 and 1974 he was commander of the Ghanaian Army and Commanding Officer of the Ghana Telecommunications Regiment. In the Ministry of Defence, he was director of communications.

In particular, as Chief of Staff of UNTSO Erskine has worked in Israel and was even called for the second time in the office. Erskine was the first commander of the UNIFIL force in Lebanon.
