Geography

Emmering is located about 14 km southeast of the county town of Ebersberg, 20 km southwest of Wasserburg and 21 km north-west from Rosenheim in the Munich region. The nearest railway station on the railway line from Munich to Salzburg is located in Aßling 5 km away.

There is only the district Emmering.

History

Emmering belonged to Rentamt Munich and the Court of Swabia of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

On 1 May 1978, a part of the dissolved municipality Lampferding was reclassified according to the sound village. On May 2, 1978, just one day later, the name of the municipality was officially changed to Schalldorf Emmering.
