Emmi AG

The holding company Emmi AG, headquartered in Lucerne is the largest Swiss milk processor. The company currently generates around 60 percent of its sales in Switzerland and 40 percent abroad ( produced with exports from Switzerland and abroad through subsidiaries products). To Emmi Group in Switzerland numerous production companies belong. Outside Switzerland, Emmi produced in Chile, Italy, Austria, Spain, Tunisia and the USA.

History

In 1907, 62 cooperatives the Central Swiss Milk Association Lucerne ( MVL ). 1947 produced this for the first time in Emmen soft cheese and yogurt under the brand name Emmi. The brand name Emmi comes from Emmen. In 1993, the MVL Emmi AG, to separate the commercial activities of the association's activities. Since December 2004, Emmi is listed on the Swiss Exchange SIX Swiss Exchange in Swiss equities segment.

From 1993 to 2003, Franz Jung, President of the MVL, Chairman of the Board. 2004-2009 Fritz Wyss had held this position. At the General Meeting of 20 May 2009 Konrad Graber was elected as the new Chairman of Emmi AG. CEO since March 2008 Urs Riedener. The company employs over 5000 people worldwide.

In March 2004, Caffè Latte was added to the product range of Emmi. The mixed drink made of milk and coffee is the most successful product launch of Emmi.

2014 Advanced Emmi through the acquisition of 50 % of the Mexican cheese importer Mexideli activities in the Latin American market.

Since the collapse of Swiss Dairy Food (SDF ) in mid-2002 Emmi is the leading food company in the Swiss dairy industry.
