Emperor Chūkyō

Kaiser Chūkyō (Japanese仲 恭 天皇, Chūkyō - tennō; * October 30, 1218, † June 18, 1234 ) was the 85th Tennō of Japan (13 May 1221-29 July 1221. ). He was a son of Emperor Juntoku. By 1870, his name was not on the list of the Japanese emperor. He was (九 条 廃 帝, Stepped Emperor of Kujo ) then called Kujo- haitei.

He ascended the throne in May 1221. Since he was only a child, he reigned only symbolic. His father took the liberty to prepare the uprising against the Kamakura shogunate. However, since this fails and thus lost the imperial court against the shogunate, he was expelled in July of the same year from the throne.
