Emperor Kenzō

Kenzo (Japanese顕 宗 天皇, Kenzo - tennō; * 450, † April 25 487) was, according to Nihon Shoki and Kojiki of 23 Tennō of Japan ( 485-487 ), who probably ruled in the late 5th century. After these two books was his proper name Woke, and he was a son of Prince Ichinobenooshiwas, whose father was Emperor Richu.

His father was murdered by Emperor Yūryaku during the reign of Emperor Anko. Kenzo fled with his brother Oke of Harima (today Akashi in Hyōgo Prefecture ) after Danbo ( Taniwa ), then to Akashi. They lived there under a false name. Strangers they told they are " children of Taniwa ". As, came to power after the death of Emperor Kaiser Yūryakus Seinei, the third son Yūryakus, the brothers of their environmental disclosed. Because Kaiser Seinei had no children, he took her as his prince and made Oke to his crown prince. But not ascended the throne Oke first, but his brother Woke.
