Emperor Ku

Ku (Chinese喾/喾), also called Dì Ku (帝 喾chinese /帝 喾) or Gaoxin, is a legendary monarch of ancient China.

Life

KU is one of the five Urkaisern China. As with all these, his life data are not historically secured and vary considerably. His suspected government time varies between 2412-2343 BC or 2436-2367 BC He is a descendant ( grandson) of the Yellow Emperor.

At Kaiser Kus cultural achievements include the introduction of schools, in early Chinese sources is also attributed to him full participation in the invention of musical instruments and traditional compositions. He is also the founder of polygamy in China. KU least four women are attributed.

With his wife Changyi (Chinese常 仪) KU had a son, Di Zhi, who became his successor, but the regency ceded after nine years to his brother Yao, whose mother was Qingdu. With Jiang Yuan he begat Houji, Jiandi gave birth to Qi. These sons are considered to be progenitors of the Zhou and Shang people. His each other constantly warring sons Ebo and Sichen ( mothers unknown) he continued to separate them, as the gods of the stars Chen and Shen.
