Emperor Senka

Senka (Japanese宣化 天皇, Senka - tennō; * 467, † March 15 539 ) was the 28th Tenno of Japan.

Senka was the second son of Emperor Keitai. After his brother and predecessor, Emperor Ankan died in January 536 without issue, Senka was according to the rules of succession to the 28th emperor of Japan. Upon his accession to the throne in January or February 536 he was already 69 years old, which explains his very short reign of just three years. As well as Senka died childless, his younger brother Kimmei is the successor. His grave is believed to be the Toriya - Misanzai - Kofun (鳥屋 ミサンザイ 古墳, 34 ° 28 ' 41.7 "N, 135 ° 46' 47.8 " O34.478251135.779952 ) in today's Toriya -chō, Kashihara, Nara Prefecture.
