Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária

Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária ( EMBRAPA ) is a Brazilian research institute. It develops technologies for Brazilian agriculture, which reduce production costs, increase food production, conserve resources and the environment and to reduce dependence on external technologies, products and genetic material.

EMBRAPA was founded in 1973 and comprises 38 research stations, which is headquartered in Brasília. It reports to the Ministry of Agriculture and coordinates the national agricultural research. Of the more than 8,000 employees are more than 2,000 scientists. President is Pedro Antonio Pereira Arraes.
