Empresas Polar

Empresas Polar is a food group from Venezuela. It is the second largest company and the largest private company in the country.

The company was founded in 1941. In 2009, about 30,000 people worked directly for Polar. The government Hugo Chavez and Nicolás Maduro is often in conflict with the company and themselves with their workers. Chavez had repeatedly threatened to expropriate the company. Its workers earn but considerably better than the average Venezuelans in the rule, and was always opposed it.
