Empress Meishō

Meisho (Japanese明 正 天皇, meisho - tennō; born January 9, 1624 † December 4, 1696 ) was a Tennō of Japan. She was the only daughter of Go- Mizunoo - tennō and his wife Kazuko, Tokugawa Ieyasu's granddaughter.

She did not marry and had no children. She was after 859 years back, the first and to date the second last woman on the throne since Koken. According to her, her brother, Go- Komyo ascended the throne.
