Empress Wang Zhi

Wang Zhi ( Chinese:王 娡) ( 173-126 BC) was the Empress at the time of Emperor Han Jingdi the Han Dynasty.

Wang Zhi was summoned by the Emperor Jingdi to the imperial court. In the year 156 BC she gave birth to her tenth son, who was named Liu Che and the title of Prince Jiaodong. In the year 150 BCE the Emperor Jingdi ordered Che Liu define as Prince and the original Prince Rong Liu to degrade the prince Linjiang so Wang Zhi rose from concubine to empress. After the death Jingdis 141 BC, her son Che Liu became the Emperor Han Wudi. After her own death in 126 BC, she was worshiped as Empress Xiaojing and buried with her husband Emperor Jingdi.
