Emtinghausen

Emtinghausen ( Low German Emhusen ) is a municipality with about 1600 inhabitants in the Samtgemeinde Thedinghausen in Verden in Lower Saxony. The municipality Emtinghausen next to the place Emtinghausen also includes the village Bahlum. The main attraction is the recently renovated windmill from 1873. Through Bahlum and Emtinghausen the Blank Waters flowing meadow ditch.

History

While settlements can be detected in the community as early as the 7th century, the first written mention is dated in the year 1260. From 1679 was Emtinghausen as the neighboring community Thedinghausen a Brunswick possession. On July 1, 1972 was reclassified along with Thedinghausen from the district of Braunschweig in the district of Verden.

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the community was incorporated Bahlum.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms depicts a golden sign foot on a green background. Underneath a blue, wavy river (Weser). From the sign foot a silver flower grows up in the middle plate. The Golden Blütenhalm an ear is on the left and right plugged. Left and right of the ears is each a golden half-timbered house.

In the community Emtinghausen there are two local fire departments, this is volunteer fire with basic amenities.
