EN 1997

The euro code 7 ( often short EC 7 ) is the name given to the European standard EN 1997 with the title design, analysis and design in geotechnical engineering and part of the series of Euro codes.

The EN 1997, which was taken by the Member States of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN ) each as a national standard, 1 General rules and part is divided into two part investigation and testing of the ground. For use, the standard always comes in conjunction with the Euro code 0, which defines the basic principles of structural design. Explicitly not part of the EC 7 is the earthquake-resistant design. For this, the EN is referred to the Euro Code 8 1997 Part 1, its rules, inter alia, the EC 7 adds to the aspects of earthquake-resistant construction.

The current German version of the standard DIN EN 1997, with its two parts (Part 1 of March 2014 and Part 2 of October 2010), the corresponding national annexes (each from December 2010).
