ENAER

ENAER ( Empresa Nacional de Aeronáutica de Chile) is an aircraft manufacturer from Chile.

The roots of ENAER are already in 1930, at that time under the name Central de Aviación de la Maestranza Aérea Nacional Fuerza. Main task was the maintenance of state aircraft.

The ENAER itself was founded on 16 March 1984 as part of the Chilean Air Force FACH. Despite their origins state she works as an autonomous aircraft manufacturer. It is the only aircraft factory in Chile. The main tasks of ENAER are developing their own military and civilian aircraft, the manufacture of aircraft parts and aircraft maintenance. She works closely with the Spanish aircraft manufacturer CASA.

Aircraft

The ENAER has developed a number of its own aircraft, as well as modified aircraft from other manufacturers:

  • ENAER T-35 Pillán, a single-engine training aircraft
  • ENAER Eaglet, a single-engine training and touring aircraft
  • ENAER Pantera, jet fighter based on the Israeli IAI Kfir, a Mirage 50 variant

The ENAER T-35 Pillán is a very successful model for export and is exported to many South and Central American countries. Cooperation with foreign manufacturers

Chile is working closely with the Spanish and Israeli aerospace industry. The Chilean Air Force uses a variety of CASA types. ENAER manufactures parts of the CASA types Casa CN 235 and CASA C 295 Also parts for the planes Falcon 900 and 2000 of Dassault Aviation and ERJ-135/145 of the Brazilian Embraer are manufactured by ENAER. In April 2008, the company signed a contract with the Italian manufacturer Alenia Aermacchi for joint production in South America. The aircraft Alenia Aermacchi M- 346 Master and M- 311 are manufactured from 2012 at ENAER.
