Enak Gavaggio
Anak Gavaggio ( born May 4, 1976 in Ambilly ) is a former French freestyle skis. He was dedicated to the discipline of ski cross.
Biography
Gavaggio was the beginning of his career in sport of alpine ski racer, a greater achievements were made , however. His last alpine ski races he contested in March 1997, after which he moved to the ski cross. At the Winter X Games 1999 he won the gold medal. He could this success in later years never repeat all, a total of six times he was third.
His debut in the Freestyle World Cup had Gavaggio on 30 November 2002 in Tignes; the first ski cross World Cup race in history he went on the 6th Place. The first victory he celebrated in Laax on 18 January 2003. At the end of the season he was second in the discipline standings. In the course of the World Cup season 2003/ 04 Gavaggio could win three more races in the discipline standings, he missed the win again only by a few points. When he was 05 did not come in the winter of 2004 / over a fourth addition, he succeeded in February 2006, the fifth (and last) World Cup victory.
In the season 2006/ 07 Gavaggio did not take part in the World Cup, but resigned in March 2007 for the World Cup in Madonna di Campiglio and won the bronze medal there. In 2008 he again succeeded in a World Cup podium, after which he expressed increasingly trouble to break into the world top. Gavaggio nevertheless qualified for the Olympic Winter Games 2010: In Cypress Mountain, he was fifth, just after the Olympic race he resigned.
