Encyclopedia of China

The Chinese Encyclopedia Zhongguo Baike as quanshu (Chinese中国 大 百科全书/中国 大 百科全书, Pinyin Zhōngguó dà bǎikē quanshu, Great Chinese Encyclopedia ') is the most comprehensive Chinese encyclopedia.

The Zhongguo Baike quanshu appeared since 1980-1993 in the publishing of the Great Chinese Encyclopedia (Chinese中国 大 百科全书 出版社/中国 大 百科全书 出版社, Pinyin Zhōngguó dà bǎikē quanshu chūbǎnshè ) in Beijing. It includes more than 80,000 entries in 73 volumes plus an index volume. The volumes in turn are ordered by 66 different subject areas; the first volume (1980 ) dealt with astronomy.

In the same Chinese publishing house, the 10 -volume translation of the Chinese Concise Encyclopedia Britannica and a translation of Soviet Encyclopaedia published.
