Endelave

Endelave is a Danish island in the southwestern part of the Kattegat, north of Fyn ( Eng.: Funen ) and about 10 km from the Jutland mainland. The island is low and flat. Your size is 13.08 km ². Endelave has 176 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

The island forms a separate parish municipality Endelave Sogn, the office belonged until 1970 to Harde Nim Herred in Skanderborg, since the Danish municipal reform of 1970 Horsens municipality in the former Vejle Amt, in the wake of renewed municipal reform on 1 January 2007 in the "new " Horsens municipality has risen in the region Midtjylland.

On Endelave four areas can be distinguished:

  • Endelave ( village )
  • Cock (west)
  • Lynger Hage (south)
  • Overste end ( "Upper End" north)

By ferry, the island of Snaptun ( Jutland ) can be reached in 55 minutes. The island also has a small private airstrip of about 600 m for small aircraft.

Endelave belongs to the Association of Danish small islands.
