Endenicher Bach

Mouth of the Endenicher Bach in the Bach Dransdorfer

Outlet of the cased Endenicher Bach at the Siemens road (Bonn)

The Endenicher Bach, called the upper reaches cats Lochbach and later Lengsdorfer Bach, the longest river in Bonn. Its total length is about eleven kilometers and the catchment area covers 38.7 square kilometers [A 1].

From the source to the section " In the Valley of the Mills " shows the stream as close to nature / natural body of water with great botanical and zoological significance.

Especially in its course through the Katzenlochbachtal, that was from 2000, nature reserve and since 2004 has been part of the larger nature reserve Kotte forest, the creek is still very natural. He is not affected by wastewater and - other than the road bridge between Röttgen and Ippendorf and a hydraulic structure before Lengsdorf - perfect in its course unchanged. The creek changed there at high water time and again its course. The area around the creek is characterized in its course through the valley of a natural alder-ash forest and softwood forests of various species of willows. Is also characterized by numerous Gleithänge and percussion slopes that allow natural dynamics of the stream and form valuable habitats and ecological niches. In the environment of the creek there is offered a diverse mosaic of tall herb communities, grassland, grasslands, shrubs, hedges and small woods. These areas are in Katzenlochbachtal buffer zones between creek and the surrounding villages and there are a centuries-old landscape preserved. There are in this section no trail along the creek, so that man's nature can not affect. Also, forestry and agriculture have not changed the surroundings of the creek in the course through the Katzenlochbachtal in past centuries.

In the after -carrying settlement area ( in the Mills to the mouth ) is subject to Endenicher Bach an increased use of pressure and has very little closeness to nature or is piped.

Tributaries are the Hohnderfeldbach, the Göttchesbach and Hubertus Bach.

The Endenicher stream is piped from Endenich and empties into Dransdorf in the Dransdorfer Bach ( below bridge Siemens road).
