Endgame is the twelfth studio album by American thrash metal / speed metal band Megadeth. It was released in September 2009 on Roadrunner Records. It is the first Megadeth album with Chris Broderick on guitar. Musically, it was seen both in the tradition of harder Megadeth albums like Rust in Peace as well as more recent publications such as The System Has Failed.

Genesis

Before the recording of Endgame it came to the separation of guitarist Glen Drover. According to a statement from frontman Dave Mustaine was in these health problems and demonstrate that they desire to spend more time with his family. At the suggestion of Glen and his brother Shawn Drover, drummer of the band, Chris Broderick (formerly with Nevermore and Jag Panzer ) was committed. Mustaine told the panel:

"The album is much more aggressive and faster than anything I've done in recent years. It is likely Endgame ' even our best album since Rust in Peace '. "

Texts

The title track is according to Dave Mustaine of a decree issued by George W. Bush in which these authorities have authorized, with the " vague " reasons " in a national emergency to block larger parts of the population in closed institutions ".
