Endoderm

The endoderm (from Greek to enteron " gut " actually " the inside " and to derma " skin"), and endoderm, the inner germ layer of the embryo blasts. The endoderm is not to be confused with the endodermis in plants.

From the endoderm, the epithelial organs following form:

  • Digestive tract (except the mouth and anus), including its glands
  • Liver
  • Pancreas
  • Thyroid
  • Thymus
  • Respiratory tract
  • Bladder
  • Urethra
