Endosome

Endosomes (Greek endo = " within" and soma = " body " ) are vesicles animal and plant cells, resulting in endocytosis. They are among the organelles of the cell. Endosomes are considered prälysosomale intermediate stage, a distinction being made between early and late endosomes. Early endosomes are located at the cell periphery, late endosomes rather in the field of the nucleus. Acidification through special proton pump causes a detachment of the bound molecules in the endosomes of the respective membrane receptors. These receptors can be removed and transported back to the cell membrane to become another endocytic process available.

Endolysosomes caused by fusion of the endosome with a lysosome, a vesicle containing degrading enzymes. In the endolysosomes proteins are degraded; they represent a late compartment of the endocytic pathway dar.
