Endubis

Endubis (ca. 270 - ca 320 AD) was the first ruler of Aksum, the minting coins. These coins issued in gold and silver, and carried on the front of a Münzlegende in Greek, namely BACIΛEYC AΧWMITWΝ ( "King / Emperor of the Aksumites "). On the back, also in Greek characters, BICI ΔAXY, " bisi Dachu ", which is possibly bisi Ge'ez and man of might mean. The coins show the head of the ruler with a tight cap as a head-dress, ears and a crescent around it are. It is noteworthy that the gold coins oriented in weight and fineness to the Roman solidus.
