Energy Slave

As energy slaves (English Energy slave) is defined as the amount of energy that is able to replace a human worker. An energy slave performed this work as part of automated and technological infrastructure, while using energy.

Definition and use

The term of the energy slave is used to compare the productivity of a person with the amount of energy that is required in the oil -based industrialized economy, to achieve the same result. It can be applied to almost all areas but in which human is replaced by non- human labor. The costs incurred by the industrialization of additional damage to the environment and society are, however, not considered.

An energy slave, for example, be seen as a person who has a power output of 300 W and works eight hours a day. This corresponds to a capacity of 880 kWh / a or a consumption of about 90 liters of oil per year.

Although athletes can accommodate up to 500 W of power for a short time, the continuous output is closer to 100 W. How many energy slaves employed each country, so can be calculated with the per capita energy consumption.
