Both overhead line crossings consist of a series of basically conventional pylons that are on caissons in the water of the lake. They have been completely assembled in a dry dock and then transported by tugs to their locations. There, the caissons were lowered to the bottom of there about 4.6 km wide lake.

The first of these two overhead lines was built in 1977 and used to transport the electricity generated in thermal power plant Zaporizhia. It consists of seven towers with 90 yards and two with 100 meters height. The distance between the poles is approximately 800 meters.

In 1984, added a second single-circuit 750 - kV line that serves the energy transport from the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. It consists of six towers with 126 meters and a further 100 meters. Here the pole distance is about 1250 meters.
