Enersis

Enersis is a Chilean company based in Santiago de Chile.

The company was founded in 1921 and changed his company in 1988 Enersis. Enersis divided into the following subsidiaries and Río Maipo Chilectra in the energy market; Manso de Velasco, the subsidiary working in the electronics sector and the real estate market.

In April 1999, Enersis acquired a majority interest by the Spanish company Endesa, with 60.62 percent of Enersis.

The producers of the company have a total capacity of 13,700 MW, the distribution needs of approximately twelve million customers with 45 million people. Enersis achieved in fiscal year 2006 with 10,300 employees generated sales of 7.3 billion U.S. dollars. The company is therefore by Eletrobrás the second largest energy company in South America.
