Language

Enzisch is spoken by the people of Enzen on the Taimyr peninsula along the river Yenisei in Russia. It belongs to the group of Nenets and Nganasan nordsamojedischen languages.

There are two variants of the Enzischen that are sometimes considered as separate languages: forest and tundra Enzisch Enzisch. The number of native speakers is still about 70 with a slight predominance of forest - Enzischen.

As more and more permeated Russian as the language and hardly any children learn Enzisch, there is no hope for the survival of the language. To date, there is no complete grammar of Enzischen.
