Enets people

The Enzen ( Russian: enzymes / Энцы, singular: Enos / Энец, historical name: Yenisei - Samoyed, not to be confused with the Yenisey Ostyaks = ketene ) are a people in Western Siberia on the Taimyr Peninsula with about 230 members.

Most Enzen live in the settlement Potapovo, near the mouth of the Yenisei. The Enzische language belongs to the family of Samoyed languages. The Enzen belong politically to the group of indigenous peoples of the Russian North, Siberia and the Russian Far East.
