EnGarde Secure Linux

EnGarde Secure Linux is an independently developed Linux distribution for servers. It was designed as a very secure operating system, relying on SELinux.

The system can optionally be configured completely via an SSL-encrypted web interface. It provides a relatively low system requirements, the developers only give an Intel Pentium processor, 32 MiB of RAM and a 2 GB hard drive.

The system is being developed since 1999, a first version appeared in 2001. According to his own statement, it is the world's first open source security solution.

Originally EnGarde Secure Linux based on Red Hat Linux, today there is, however, developed independently.
