Engelberg (Leonberg)

The Engelberg is the highest elevation in the city of Leonberg in Baden- Württemberg, about eleven kilometers west of Stuttgart.

Under the Engelberg highway tunnel leads through the A81, coming from Heilbronn meets the A81 after the Engelberg tunnel south on the motorway junction Leonberg.

About the new Engelberg base tunnel, in front of the south portal of the disused tube ( passage ) of the old Engelberg tunnel in which were produced during the Second World War Aircraft Parts of concentration camp prisoners in a subcamp of the Alsatian Natzweiler -Struthof, is the concentration camp memorial Leonberg. Engelberg tower

Coming from the north, west or south you can already see from afar the water tower built in 1928 on the Engelberg, Engelberg the Tower, a landmark of the city. Operation as a water tower was set in 1953. Since then, he serves as an observation point. The 34.7 m high tower has 123 steps and an observation deck on the fifth floor.
