Engelbostel is a district of the city of Langenhagen in the Hanover region. The independent municipality until 1974, was integrated at the regional reorganization on 1 March 1974 after Langenhagen. The town is located southwest of the airport Hannover -Langenhagen in its immediate vicinity. Eastern neighbor is Schulenburg; west are the villages belonging to the city of Garbsen Berenbostel and Stelingen.

History

Engelbostel celebrated in 2008 its 975 years of existence, but it is assumed that the place was founded around the year 900.

Even " in 1100 ," the archaeologist Helmut Plath judged according to archaeological finds, was the St. Gallenhof, " the nucleus of the city " Hannover, the parish of St. Mary assigned to Engelbostel. But the church building itself is 1196 for the first time preserved in deeds of gift of the Earl of Roden to the monastery Marienwerderstraße. Economy and infrastructure

The town has a primary school and daycare at the Martin church and a children's store. The centrally located and easily accessible also from the development area in Schulenburg Elementary School Engelbostel is developed as a social center of the town to a day school, for the time being in a municipal pilot project for the next two years.

Engelbostel is served by three bus lines of Üstra and Regiobus Hanover. There are connections to Hannover -Nord port (connection to the light rail ), Langenhagen, Garbsen and Stöckendrebber.
