Engin Atsür

Engin Atsür ( born April 2, 1984 in Istanbul) is a Turkish national basketball player on the position of the point guards.

Career

The son of a German mother and a Turkish father, the French Saint- Benoit- attended high school in Istanbul and basketball has started the club Efes Pilsen Istanbul. He played college basketball in the United States in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC ) for the North Carolina State University in the years 2003 to 2007, where he completed his business degree. At the North Carolina State University, he was the 33rd player with more than 1000 points, he scored 1181 points. He was also at the university Second best three-point shooter, Fourth best in minutes played ( 3,838 rpm 119 games, 32.3 minutes per game), scoring 9.9 PPG.

At the European Championships in 2002 for juniors in Germany Atsür played with 22.3 points per game average and was selected to the All- Tournament First Team of the tournament as the best shooting guard. Since the World Championships in 2006 in Japan, he is a regular player of the Turkish national team.

Atsür signed his first professional contract with the Italian club Benetton Treviso on 30 June 2007. After a season in Italy, he moved to Efes Pilsen Istanbul. For the 2009/10 season Atsür joined Besiktas Istanbul. After one season at Besiktas he was hired for the 2010/2011 season champion Fenerbahçe Ülker from Turkey. In the 2012-2013 season Atsür moved to Galatasaray in 2013 and has been with his new team champion of the Turkish league.
