Engineer's scale
The Triangular scale, triangular or prism scale (also prism or Maßknüppel ) is a ruler with six different scale scales. To accommodate this scale of a ruler, is the benchmark in cross section star-shaped and this "star" three units.
Triangular scales are 30 cm long usually. Today, these are made from a polymer material, or manufactured in high-quality versions of light metal (aluminum). In the selection of materials, particular emphasis is given to the dimensional accuracy. Formerly known triangular scales were made of wood and with scales made of aluminum, or later with a high-quality polymer material, which should be heat-resistant and dimensionally stable, covered. Will use the Triangular scale, especially when working with different scales and time-consuming conversion operations shall be avoided.
