Englisberg is a former municipality in the district of Wald BE in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern.

Geography

The community is located at the northern end of the Englisberg Längenberge, on a promising high plateau at an average 815 meters above sea level The 436 ha, the area extends from 630 meters above sea level in Düstiwald over the Köniztal ( border to the municipality return rate) up to 940 m asl in Allmidhölzli on the border with community forest room. History

The present village Englisberg is probably from the old, original Celtic place Kühlewil ( Cullenwil, Cullewilare ) emerged. Englisberg got its name from the now extinct Old Bernese Feudalgeschlecht, that of Englisberg, which ( to 1166 Endlisperc ) is documentary evidence since the middle of the 12th century.
