English Baroque Soloists

The English Chamber Orchestra English Baroque Soloists specializes in the authentic within the meaning of historical performance practice.

Formation and repertoire

The ensemble, also briefly called EBS, was founded in 1978 by the conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner. The repertoire includes the music of the Baroque and Classical periods. From the outset, the ensemble worked together with the 1968 also launched by Gardiner Monteverdi Choir and played numerous recordings one.
