English Chess Federation

The English Chess Federation ( ECF abbreviation, German: "English Chess Federation" ) is the umbrella organization for chess players in England. She is a member of the World Chess Federation FIDE and represents the English equivalent of the German Chess Federation (DSB )

The ECF was created in 2005 from the former British Chess Federation (BCF, German: " British Chess Federation" ), which had been founded in 1904. The BCF in turn was created by transformation of the British Chess Association ( BCA, German: "British Chess Federation " ), the work unsatisfactory and originally next to England and Wales and Northern Ireland included. Currently, however, the chess in Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the Channel Islands will be organized by their own governing bodies, while the ECF is solely responsible for England.

The ECF publishes the chess magazine Chess Moves, which is free for members.
