The English River (French Rivière English) is a river in Kenora District in Central Western Ontario ( Canada).

It flows through the lake Lac Seul, which is dammed at Ear Falls. Another tributary of Lac Seul is the Vermilion River. The English River flows in a westerly direction, takes on the Wabigoon River and eventually empties near the provincial border with Manitoba in Winnipeg River. The West English River Provincial Park is located along the river between Manitou Falls and the mouth of the Wabigoon River. The Ojibway Reserves Lac Seul, English River and Islington lie along the riverbank of the English River.
