Enis Batur

Enis Batur ( born June 28, 1952 in Eskişehir ) is a Turkish poet, novelist, essayist and publisher.

Enis Batur was educated at the French-speaking Saint Joseph High School in Istanbul and studied Connect literature at universities in Istanbul, Ankara and Paris.

His first publications appeared from 1973 he was editor or co-editor of the following literary journals: . Yazi, Oluşum, MEB, Tan, gergedan, Şehir, Sanat Dünyamız, KITAP - lik, Cogito, Arredemento Dekorasyon and Fol

Between 1998 and 2003, Batur worked as a lecturer at Galatasaray University in Istanbul.

Batur is a very prolific writer. His literary work includes more than 100 titles. His books of poetry candela Kandil (Eng. " candela ", 1981) and Sarnıç ( dt " cistern ", 1985) have been transferred in the early 1990s by the living in Germany translator Yücel Sivri into German. His works have also been translated into Italian, French, Persian, Arabic, English and Romanian.

For his poetry, he was awarded several literary prizes. He also received the award from TDK ( Turkish Language Institute ) for his essays.
